Waste Not, Want Not: ImageFIRST Chicago Donates Gowns

At ImageFIRST, not only do we provide linen services such as medical scrubs, patient gowns, cubicle curtains, and bed sheets for healthcare facilities in Pittsburgh, PA, and across the United States, but we strongly emphasize community involvement. While providing solutions to medical facilities is already a way of making a positive impact on patients and our community at large, at ImageFIRST, we value those who go the extra mile to make a difference.

One such case of a true difference-maker comes from our ImageFIRST Chicago location, where our associates made a generous donation to a local Chicago pre-K through 12th grade school, the Granger Christian School.

After discovering that the spouse of one of our ImageFIRST customers was employed at the school and could use some help, our Chicago branch associates sprang into action, donating a selection of medical gowns to the school.

At ImageFIRST, our laundry process involves hand-inspecting each individual gown. At times, there are gowns that have defects such as stains or rips that render them unusable. This fact gave our ImageFIRST Chicago associates the opportunity to give back to their community, as they rounded up the clean, but unfit-for-delivery gowns, and donated them to Granger Christian School. The school was in dire need of smocks for art class, which left our associates in a perfect position to help.

We are proud to not only contribute to a school in our community, but also to encourage creativity. We believe that children should be involved in art from a young age, as it helps sharpen their creative and communication skills.

ImageFIRST is proud to have done their part in giving back to the community, and encourages all of our associates and customers to practice the same generosity as those at our Chicago branch.

Making a difference in your community can not only help those who are directly involved, but create a ripple effect that leads to generosity in places you’d never expect.
