Living Our Purpose: Our 2nd Annual Community Giving Day

What does it mean to have purpose? It’s one thing to state an intention, but another entirely to follow through with it. Purpose isn’t just a statement: It’s a way of being, a way of life.

At ImageFIRST, our Purpose is at the heart of what we do. Simply stated, the ImageFIRST purpose - why our associates go to work every day - is to build a great company by making a positive impact on the lives of our fellow associates as well as our customers, their patients and our communities.

As part of truly living our purpose, this principle frequently takes us beyond the walls of our facilities and those of our customers’, and into the heart of our surrounding communities. We’re a service company first and foremost - we also just happen to provide laundry and linen services for healthcare in Pittsburgh, PA, and across the country.

On October 7th, we celebrated our annual Community Giving Day for the second year in a row. ImageFIRST associates across the country joined together for a full day giving back to their local communities to make a positive change. In Pennsylvania, associates at both our King of Prussia headquarters and our Lancaster location participated.

King of Prussia

For Community Giving Day this year, our King of Prussia team helped an organization called SHARE Philadelphia. The SHARE food program is on the front lines of fighting hunger, and works to reduce food insecurity by distributing food to vulnerable populations.

This non-profit runs entirely on volunteer work and financial support to fulfill its mission. On Community Giving Day, the KOP team managed to load 30 pallets of food which is made up of 1,200 boxes and 36,000 pounds of food going out to those in need in our community.

Lancaster

111 associates from ImageFIRST Lancaster worked with Schreiber Pediatrics Rehab Center in Lancaster, PA. Schreiber Pediatrics is a non-profit organization that provides education and therapy programs for young people - ranging in age from infant to adolescent - with developmental delays and disabilities.

Each year, the center raises funds with its Annual Rubber Duckie Race and Festival. Such a tremendous event requires a big clean-up after the fact, and that’s where ImageFIRST came in to help. Our volunteers spent the day sorting the rubber duckies from the race so that Schreiber can have a successful fundraiser again next year.

Medical scrubs and uniforms in Lancaster, PA, and elsewhere are just one part of our way here at ImageFIRST. No matter what we do, we always strive to do it in alignment with a greater purpose. Learn more by visiting http://pittsburgh.imagefirst.com/.
